THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues marital property division child custody battles, and child support arrangements. She also handles the post-divorce and enforcement of issues such as step-parent adoptions and private adoptions at parties as and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has been a mediator appointed by the court since 2019. She helps parties resolve their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. In addition to court-appointed mediation, Ashley also mediates in private cases for those who would like to avoid the court process and litigation.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned two Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. After graduating in 2013, she excelled academically, securing a spot among the top 10 students in her class. During her time in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review which showcased her dedication to legal scholarship and research.

Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She worked for notable jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to be being a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to work as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main focus was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases involving child welfare. Ashley's tireless efforts were instrumental in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at the of their caregivers or parents. Her dedication to social justice extended beyond the realm of law since she was actively an executive member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force, which worked hard to educate the public about human trafficking in the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law - divorce custody, child support and guardianships as well in estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxy - and mediation.

Ashley established Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023 with the commitment to provide a personalized approach for every client's need.
